6 things Destiny 2 needs to be a success on PC

Now, with the sequel potentially under six months away, I want to talk about what it needs to ensure success on PC. The leaked poster mentions the beta will take place on PS4, implying similar deals can be expected for Destiny 2. Note also that this year’s Resident Evil 7 was a ‘Play Anywhere’ title, meaning saves transferred automatically between PC and XB1. As mentioned above, The Vault of Glass raid is brilliant, and arguably the thing that persuaded players to stick with Destiny. It goes wit

Starved for the sport on PC, Old Time Hockey is a bit of a letdown

We haven't had an NHL game from EA since 2008, and we haven't seen many alternatives since. However, now that I've spent a good chunk of time with it, Old Time Hockey isn't the exhilarating, arcade sports game that it initially looked like. In your hands, Old Time is stuck somewhere between NHL 94's d-pad scheme and the modern NHL games' skill stick. I'd love to see a developer create a deep, engaging fighting system for a hockey game, but this sadly is not that. Old Time Hockey isn't the game P

Build guide: the best cheap gaming PC

This build is aimed at creating a gaming PC that performs decently well for as little money as possible. Long story short: this is the best gaming PC build for $500. As this is a budget build, the best RX 470 variant to buy is the cheapest. (It's also our top pick for best budget SSD.) Fractal Design is one of our favorite case manufacturers, and the Core 1100 is a great case for this budget build.

The best ATX mid-tower PC cases

Spending a bit more on a nice PC case, in most cases the most visible aspect of your build, can go a very long way. When it comes to building a PC, most users aren’t looking to break the bank on components like a PC case. Initially introduced with In Win’s sleek 901 brushed aluminum cases, tempered glass side panels have quickly become a hit among PC case manufacturers. As great as tempered glass looks, there’s one major drawback that most of these cases face, and that’s heat retention. Only a h

The best RGB LED Lighting Kit

With 85 total LEDs, our DIY solution was far brighter with smoother color effects than any of the other kits we’ve tested. There are plenty of addressable RGB LED strips on the market today, but we found the WS2812B strips to be the most cost effective and versatile when it comes to lighting up a PC. However, in addition to the LED strip you’ll have to purchase a separate controller and power supply . More advanced users can use Arduino boards or a Raspberry Pi to program their own limitless lig

Mass Effect: Andromeda is nearly a week away, and with it comes the return of Loyalty missions. The gameplay demo showcases squadmate Liam Kosta's Loyalty mission. These types of missions weren't present in Mass Effect 3, but they were a critical part of the second game. Here are two of the monsters you’ll be roughing up in action RPG Dauntless

There's not a hint of daunt on display in the latest trailer for co-op action RPG Dauntless, and yes, 'co-op action RPG' is a fancy way of saying 'Monster Hunter-style game'. The major difference between this and yer actual Monster Hunter is that, hooray, it'll be on PC (and no, the Monster Hunter MMO didn't count). There's an open beta for Phoenix Labs' free-to-play action RPG coming late this year, and you can sign up in readiness over on the official site. Unusually, the system requirements h
