What’s interesting about StealthGamerBR’s videos is that they’re not conventional challenge runs with stringent rules, but rather compiled under a different guiding principle: What would be most entertaining to watch? In a strange way, StealthGamerBR’s gameplay videos are less like video game playthroughs than they are slapstick comedy romps. In a weird way, there’s a strong thematic conn

  • A long time ago in a galaxy far away (well, in Florida last weekend, but it still is quite a journey) we attended the Star Wars Celebration where EA properly lifted the veil from Star Wars Battlefront 2. Mark Thompson: Without getting into too much detail that I will get in trouble for… We take all of our cues from how to tell a Star Wars story working with Lucasfilm story group, analysing the movies, breaking down the beats and flow of Star Wars storytelling. Does it feel right for Star Wars?

  • Little Nightmares is everything you may have loved about LittleBigPlanet thrown into a sausage grinder with everything you may have dreaded in Silent Hill. Avoiding their attention while completing each area’s puzzles gives rise to a more complex kind of fear than we’re used to in horror games. Tarsier has described Little Nightmares as a “hide and seek” game rather than a “stealth” game, and while this may sound like developer doublespeak, it reflects the idea that you are neither an infiltrato

  • The thing is, while that statement certainly fits thematically with the Dark Souls franchise – or, at least, the way the Dark Souls franchise is marketed – it’s not a great fit for a board game. As I unpacked Dark Souls the Board Game and its sumptuous miniatures, in other words, I worried that Steamforged had shipped an imbalanced product for the sake of living up to Dark Souls’ reputation for difficulty. The greatest triumph of Dark Souls the Board Game, however, comes in the form of the boss

  • Mario Kart 8’s genius lies in all the little details that add up to a dizzying whole. There’s an elasticity to Mario Kart 8’s handling, one that invites you to ping its vehicles this way and that in order to move them forward ever faster. And so Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, the Switch’s port of the 2014 Wii U game, inherits a pretty spectacular package. Deluxe offers a complete overhaul that brings Battle Mode up to the standard seen elsewhere in Mario Kart 8. It’s a question we might not know the answe

  • Elite Dangerous developer Frontier has announced plans to release a patch designed to squash the many bugs introduced into the game with the recent The Commanders update. Yesterday, Frontier took to the Elite Dangerous forum to announce update 2.3.01, due out “early May”. For some reason the 2.3 update gave Packhound launchers infinite ammo and no heat generation when fired by crewmates. You’ll have until the 4th May to link your account with a unique phone number before these changes come into effect, but after that, it’ll be set in stone.
