If you want a fantasy and science fiction MMO shooter that includes action role playing, real time strategy and first person elements you should check out Savage 2: A Tortured Soul. This freeware game is full of action as the follow up to Savage: The Battle for Newerth. Unlike many other sequel games Savage 2 steps up the action and provides more fantasy battling fun for players of all ages.
Players get to choose to be on either the Legion of Man or Beast Horde team. Each team has a commander to build defenses and support the team, while the other players on the team control individual units known as squads. As you would figure the Legion and Horde are enemies and each are moving through the map claiming and holding as much land and property as they can gain from each other and the citizens of the towns and keeps.
Gold mines are how each team can build their defenses and pay for upkeep on their supplies. These are areas that need a lot of defense as the other team will always be trying to take over your teams gold mines. Once you have no gold mines, you won’t be able to defend your areas and your team will quickly lose.
The goal of the game is for your team to defend your structures kills NPC's and enemies rebuild and repair structures. Each of these activities allows the team to gain experience points and levels. Your battles will involve magical spell casting, ranged combat and up close melee. Weapons will vary depending upon the level of each player and the overall success of the team.
This game lets you play online against and with players from all over the world. With realistic battles, interaction, and all the benefits of Savage 2 is worth a try. Anyone who has played Savage will definitely be interested in playing the second installment of this game, anyone who hasn’t played Savage will still be able to get into Savage 2 if they enjoy first person shooter games that are also interactive and have a good story to go along with the characters.
