Age of Conan MMORPG - A Rocky Start

Age of Conan was a highly anticipated MMORPG that nearly flopped on launch. While many MMOs see their share of problems from the beginning, Age of Conan, often abbreviated AoC, had more than most. It was criticized and analyzed and even scrutinized and the verdict wasn't looking too good.

While it had a very rocky start with bugs in the game, gaps in the content and issues over violence, nudity and filtering, the makers of AoC set out to correct this blunder with a series of patches that would span over the course of months.

Initially, these patches created an even bigger disaster of the game and created some new problems as well as compounded the existing ones but Funcom was dedicated to sticking it out through the long haul and developing the game as they originally intended.

Many months, patches and improvements later, things are finally looking up for Age of Conan. While they still haven't recovered all of their players, they've managed to win back a few as well as bring in some new players and the game is looking up.

Age of Conan is one of the best looking MMORPGs on the market today as far as graphics go. It has a realistic environment that really shines on each and every small detail. It has a comfortable playing style that players will enjoy, especially if you'd played MMOs before.

You level just like you do in nearly any other MMORPG by creating a character and then doing quests and killing stuff. There is an abundance of single player and group quests for you to enjoy and there is also a night-time personal quest chain that each player gets the chance to do by themselves. It takes you to a different zone with no other players.

Another bonus is that now that these improvements have been made, AoC has a pretty decent player base so the game is always busy and there is always something to do with others, even outside of peak hours. If you've tried AoC in the beginning, it's a whole different game now, making it worth it to check it out again.
